You could look up the webopedia for the various acronyms that are there in the syllabus. Cisco’s website should give you the necessary material. But in case you are not satisfied by this explanation. You could search the web for power point presentations that give a more graphical description of the topics concerned. Your self study needs to be planned such that you are able to finish all your learning and not cram before the examination. Since you do not know the entire syllabus and the amount of knowledge involved it is always better to keep a few days extra so that this is a buffer in case you have not finished a topic fully.

CCNP is an intermediate certification from Cisco. Taking training would be the best option. Whatever be your choice practice on the equipment is the best way to get familiar and learn.
