Key Responsibility Areas - Approaching buyers directly and through buying houses for business development. - Handling Buyer meetings, costings, development of new range of fabrics, prints, embroideries and creating new styles and concepts. - Sourcing new fabric varieties, surface ornamentation techniques and accessories to enhance garments. - Developing brand samples (sampling), as per Tech Packs received from buyer. - Developing fancy labels, badges, embroideries, print strike offs as per artwork. - Sourcing fabrics (woven & knits both) & accessories from suppliers. - Making brand packages ready, with costing for buyer's meeting. - Quoting prices & negotiating accordingly & also finalizing the price & order confirmation. - If necessary traveling the Buying House/Agency for Buyers meetings & Order confirmations. - Responsible for following up with buyers about weekly approvals and updates. - Proceeding with the order on confirmation with Fabric & Trims ordering to maintain the delivery on time. - Getting embroideries done as per buyers requirements from the karigars, coming out with cost & time required per sample & ascerting cost at each artwork. Also sourcing materials for hand work & matching threads from the local markets. - To start with the Fits & get them approved on time & also get the fabrics & trims approved well in advance to avoid any delays in production. - Making production files as well as pre-production samples ready for final productions, well in advance before shipment date. - Visiting Factories if required to avoid any delays/problem in production. - Daily follow up with production unit, agency, fabric department, and accessory department for execution of order on time. - Making TOP samples perfectly Ok as per the approved comments & get them approved to execute the order on time. - To Co-ordinate with Logistics, Finance and commercial Dept’s for day-to-day business related activities. - Three Years in Ms. Sonal Garments, Mumbai, as Sr. Merchandiser one of the reputed export houses in India. ( JAN 2004 To Dec 2007 ). Was dealing with 'BONPRIX - OTTO', one of the well-known buyers in Germany with below mentioned brand names which is having their own stores in Germany, Dutch, Netherland, U.S.A, Poland & Spain, Czechoslowakia.
