26th December, 2011. Dear Sir(s), Subject : Position of a Trainee Engineer I have been given to understand there is a vacancy in your esteemed Company for the position of an Aeronautical Engineer. It has been my sincere aspiration to attain a career in Aeronautical Engineering. My educational qualification and a distinct degree for the university puts me in a very favorable position to apply for this job. I am willing to undergo further training in your esteemed organization in-order to receive sufficient accreditation in order to be further qualified to attain my goal of being an engineer. I would be obliged if you could kindly let me have an appointment with your personal department so as to show you my testimonials and substantiate my statements. Thanking you, I remain Sincerely, (J. Praveen Rao) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION : 2011 Completion of Bachelor in Aeronautical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) in 2011 with a class of Distinction and my aggregate percentage being 78.06% Percentage of Marks : 78.06% 2007 Completion of 1st year in Bachelor of Science in the field of Computer Science, Malad, Mumbai and my key subjects being C and C++. Percentage of Marks :73.00% 2006 Completion of Higer Secondary Sanskardham Junior college of Commerce and Science, Goregoan Mumbai. Percentage of Marks : 67.00% 2004 Completion of Higher Secondary Schooling from St. Thomas High School, Goregoan, Mumbai. Percentage of Marks : 67.06% ADDITIONAL SKILLS : - Languages : C,C++ - Web Technologies : HTML, Microsoft office applications. - Software : BASICS IN SOLID WORKS,ANSYS,COSMOS& AUTOCAD ACADEMIC PROJECTS Project - I Title : MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF A STRAPDOWN BLOCK Period : June’10-July’10 Synopsis : As the name suggests, Strap down block is a block on which three gyros and three accelerometers are mounted(strapped onto it) in such a way that they are mutually perpendicular to each other so that it can measure the velocity, acceleration and position of any air vehicle in three different directions i.e. x-axis, y-axis and z-axis. This strap down block is itself designed in such a way that these three accelerometers and gyroscopes can be mounted exactly in three perpendicular directions. This strap down block is made of aluminum alloy and is kept in a block called chassis for an external support from the ambient temperature, external loads, shocks, vibrations etc. and this chassis is fixed in any air vehicle to measure it’s velocity and directions in three perpendicular directions. Thus our project was to model this strap down block using solid works software and the analysis for the same was performed under cosmos. Results : The modeling of the block was performed using solid works and the analysis of the block was performed using cosmos. Analysis such as frequency analysis, stress analysis and temperature analysis was performed using cosmos. The block that we designed had 3 gyroscopes mounted onto it in three perpendicular directions i.e x,y and z-axis. The frequency of this gyroscope resulted in 1012 Hz which is almost more than twice of any natural gyroscope as the frequency of any gyroscope is about 500 Hz thus making our block safe for any flying vehicle. ACADEMIC PROJECTS Project - II Title : MODELING OF A MINI AIR VEHICLE Period : Jan’11-April’11 Synopsis : As the name suggests, a mini air vehicle is an unmanned air vehicle which drives power from the batteries to fly and are controlled or maneuvered by remote control systems. Our project was to design an model such air vehicle which can be used for surveillance purposes. The vehicle which we modeled was divided into three parts and design of the same was done separately viz: fuselage, wings and tail section. The main advantage of the vehicle was that the wing was designed to be elliptical as greater lift is produced by an elliptical wing. Fuselage was designed with the help of rubber sizing. The material we used for the vehicle was made of foam. The vehicle could travel for 15 min and its weight was approximately 500gms.and could travel for up to 500 ft. from ground. The most striking part of our project was that a camera for surveillance purpose was mounted on the fuselage which could be helpful for any investigation purpose or detecting the hidden substance. ACHIEVEMENTS : I have been awarded “CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE” for scoring the highest marks In the batch during my 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year of my B.E (Aeronautical). I have been awarded several “MERIT CERTIFICATES” in the field of Athletics, Cricket &Football. At the State and National Level in India. I have presented several scientific papers at State Level. I have also presented my work and academic project with scientists in DRDL (Defense Research and Development Laboratories) Government of India. Extra Curricular Activities : Sports : Cricket, Football, Basketball and Athletics. Hobbies : Chess, Music
