Plant Operations
- Planning, scheduling and ensuring smooth plant operations, within budgetary limits, and as per Standard Operating Procedures. 
- Formulating budgets (CAPEX & OPEX), administering resources, and reporting progress on a regular basis to the superiors and taking necessary steps to make up for any variances in the achieved v. actual targets.
- Reviewing existing processes and initiating measures for enhancing productive capacity as well as productivity, within same budgetary limits (Value Engineering). 
Maintenance Operations
- Developing and implementing plans & schedules for maintenance operations & annual turnarounds with focus on optimum utilization of manpower and material.
- Coordinating troubleshooting & breakdown/ preventive/ shutdown maintenance for curbing downtime to a minimum level. 
- Analysing major breakdowns & preventive maintenance findings and implementing corrective action plans. 
Project Planning & Management/ Instrumentation
- Managing projects for the erection and commissioning of equipments and utilities for enhancing operational capacity and seamless functions, as well as OEE monitoring.
- Calibrating equipment on a regular basis to ensure performance capacity of various equipments fulfils required norms and standards.
- Handling selection of equipment. Testing their performance prior to installation for process variables. 
Spares Management
- Assessing requirement of spares; indenting material; interfacing with Purchase Department for on time procurement of technically approved indented material.
- Ensuring maintenance of optimum inventory levels to achieve adequate stock of spare parts.
- Governing the inventory function of spares involving planning for storage and use of material so as to improve storage conditions and reduce expenses & wastage to minimum.
Process Enhancement & Cost Saving Initiatives
- Ascertaining areas of improvement and recommending process modifications and equipment calibrations to enhance operational efficiencies of the systems.
- Identifying the areas for cycle time reduction by incorporating modifications in the machine cycle. 
- Implementing energy conservation measures through monitoring consumption pattern and accordingly controlling utilities consumption demands. 
Quality Assurance & Compliance 
- Developing processes and maintaining them in line with ISO 9000, TS 16949 and TPM guidelines. 
- Participating in Quality Management System audits; maintaining relevant documents for future reference. 
- Ensuring implementation of audit recommendations for enhancing process and product quality.
- Enforcing strict adherence to safety guidelines/ regulations for moving towards incident-free environment.
Commercial Functions
- Overseeing Stores functions including storage and distribution of materials required for production/ day to day operations in the unit.
- Governing purchase activities. Coordinating the import of raw & capital equipment, and the exports of finished goods to the overseas customers, as per their requirements.
- Coordinating domestic and international dispatch of goods.
- Negotiating freight costs with the freight forwarders. 
- Maintaining relations with DGFT and Excise authorities.
