Project Works Failure Analysis of Piston Rod of 10T Hammer The main objective of the investigation was to identify the reason for the frequent piston rod failure in air drop hammer. Forging is widely used production process. The grain orientation occurring during the process imparts better mechanical and metallurgical properties to the component produced. The major component of this processes are a press and a die set. The project was carried in SIFL Thrissur, one of the largest foreign industries in Kerala.
