[b]WORK EXPERIENCE [/b]:- Worked as a intern for 1 and a half month in PROVOGUE as a designer in men’s wear category. - Designed various garments. - Sketch rough drawing to understand about the requirement of retail clients and write specification such as color, material type, construction and many more. - Used swing equipments to collect various samples of garments and articles. - Go through garment magazines to analyze new trends, customer preferences and market need. - Responsible for helping the co-workers who draw and cut the patterns. - Used to examine the garments on model/ mannequin to get better and desired results. - Responsible for various other duties as assigned. [b]STARS [/b]: - PROJECT 1 a) SITUATION- To create a garment without the use of any textile i.e. non-textile. b) TASK- Group project using aluminium and hair. c) ACTION- A theme of Rapunzel Knight was selected.Use of non-textile elements were made to create a hair weaved floral top and a full circular skirt with aluminium sheets with coils of aluminium cord and hair rolled together which were stuck on the hem in order to highlight it. And at last we made use of 100inches long hair keeping the background of rapunzel in mind. d) RESULT- 1. The outcome was a wonderful one piece gown. 2. Learned to combine and work with non-textiles. PROJECT 2 a) SITUATION- Women’s wear module. b) TASK- Individual project to prepare a garment to match the standard of the chosen brand. c) ACTION- I chose India’s first maternity fashion wear brand called UZAZI. Did market search on the brand, followed by the making of boards and after the selection of the final design constructed the garment myself for which I received 2m fabric for NO COST from the MD of the company. d) RESULT- A knee length comfortable one piece made of double jersey which was draped at the bustier and expandable at the tummy. PROJECT 3 a) SITUATION-Visit to a village to learn their art. b) TASK- group project but individual work to make commercially viable products from the learned art. c) ACTIONS- We went to a village called bhujodi in bhuj (Gujarat), it is famous for hand weaving techniques, there we went for 10 days to learn their art and three products were made by me as per the theme which was reversible and convertible, made a clutch cum goggle case, wall hanging cum side bag and slouch fit top cum drawstring sugar pouch bag. d) RESULT- We got to learn the culture, art and craft of different villages and had a great experience in creating something apart from apparels, and achieved the HIGHEST grade for the same.
