Erumely Kerala Board of Secondary Examination 2005 78 AREAS OF INTEREST Fluid Mechanics, Refrigeration, IC Engines, Strength of Materials etc. PROJECT- “Pepper Separator” Our project named “Pepper separator” is an agro-based project. In this project we try to fabricate low cost machine which helps the farmers to separate the raw pepper from its central thread. Due to its scope in the agriculture field, we got a funding of Rs.100000 from DST, Government of India for the fabrication of the same, in a contest named I2U, conducted our college. Also this project is selected for “Techtop’11”, a national level project contest, held under the auspices of Technopark, Trivandrum. This machine consists of a stationary drum, holding whole mechanisms and providing necessary friction to separate the raw pepper from its cord, and specially designed leaves fixed on the center shaft. The shaft is supported by two ball bearings. A hand wheel is fixed to the shaft to rotate the leaves. SEMINAR TAKEN- “Constitutive models of linear viscoelasticity” [b]The expression “visco-elastic” signifies the dual nature of a material [/b]: on the one hand it behaves in a viscous way, as a liquid, on the other hand elastically, as a solid. Viscoelasticity is the property of materials that exhibit both viscous and elastic characteristics when undergoing deformation. That is materials exhibiting characteristics that are both solid- and fluid-like are categorized as viscoelastic materials. This seminar deals with different properties of visco elastic materials and their modelling. SOFTWARE SKILLS C, C ++, Auto Cad, Catia ACHIEVEMENTS - Project ‘Pepper Separator’ was selected in I2U contest and received funding from Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirapally. - Active member of different organisations like NCC, Red Cross, NSS, DCL, Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakhyam etc. - Attended NCC Annual Training Camp held at SNVHSS Angadickal south,Kodumon. - Won prizes at various Elocution and Essay Competitions. - Selected for Director’s and Principal’s Honours list for good performance in B-Tech University Examinations.
