In the present study the hypoglycemic activity of seed extracts of these plants is investigated both in vitro and in vivo. In vitro studies on hypoglycemic activity of petroleum extracts of C. Limon and M. Charantia seeds indicate that, the extracts show inhibition of alpha amylase activity more at pre incubation period than the incubation at post incubation period. In vivo studies on hypoglycemic effect of these seed extract on blood glucose also show reduction in the level of glucose in the extracts administered rats when compared to controls. [b]Duration [/b]: February 2008 to March 2008 [b]Team Size [/b]: 2 [b]Description [/b]: Phenol at high concentration is toxic to microorganisms, plants, and animals including human beings. Naturally occurring pseudomonas are found to be well studied to phenol degradation process in which temperature, PH, can be monitored and controlled easily. The molecular studies carried out in these isolates indicated that the genes responsible for phenol degradation are located on plasmids.
