Position : Design Engineer. Current responsibilities : - Design and Development of Steel Teeth (ST) and Tungsten Carbide (TC) Rock Roller Bits (RRB) bits. - Layout generation for all types and styles of products. - Modeling and Drafting of the products in Pro-E. - Preparation of AutoCAD drawings (process) for the complete manufacturing of the product according to the GD & T standards. - Documentation of various design details relating to the product. - Dull bit Analysis of tested products in various fields across the world for further improvement, modification and development of the product.. - Continuous improvement of products and simplify the process of product manufacturing. - Preparing Pro-E models and related drawings of product parts by using the Product Data Management system (PDM). - Calculating the operating parameters of bits and preparing the data sheets (fliers). - Maintaining the product data management (PDM) on Wind-chill 9.0. Product Summary - Research and Development on Tungsten Carbide & Steel Tooth Tri-Cone Bits Environment : Pro-E wildfire-2, AutoCAD 2008. Description : Rock roller bit consists 3 legs & 3 cones to form a tri-cone roller bit each bit assembled with one cone by a precision bearing system. Tri-Cone rock bits are broken into the two major categories : Tungsten Carbide & Steel Tooth products. - Tungsten Carbide (T.C) Tri-Cone Bits Tungsten Rock roller bits are used to drill the Hard and Soft formation mine grounds. Insert products have cutting elements which are actually tungsten carbide inserts which have been pressed into holes drilled in the cone material. It consists of 3 cones, which are deeply carburized, hardened and tempered and fitted with special mining grade tungsten carbide inserts. - Steel Tooth (S.T) Tri-Cone Bits Steel Tooth products have cutting elements which have been milled from the steel of the cone itself and are strengthened by the application of tungsten carbide hard facing to the surfaces of the tooth. The S.T bits cutting structure is designed by using uni-graphics NX-4. and those 3D models are converted into 2D for manufacturing purpose. Both bits contain some common parts like Bearing, Strainer, Ball, Cone, Nozzle, Roller, Dowel Pin, etc. Each and every part designed in Uni-graphics software and assembles all the parts. The solid modeling drawings are converted 2D drawings for the production purpose with all GD & T dimensions. Educational Project - Redesigning of a Heat Exchanger in a boiler feed pump Team size : 3 Description : As part of our 8th semester curriculum, we had taken up a project on “Re-design of a heat exchanger in a Boiler Feed Pump”, conducted in V.T.P.S, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Generally, Shell and tube heat exchangers are the major things in thermal power plants to control the temperature of motors and scoop valve arrangements that too in Boiler feed pumps. We got an opportunity to know the cooling systems in Boiler Feed Pumps at the time of some problems were being aroused due to ineffective cooling system. In this manner we were taught the details of cooling system and received an excellent assistance to know more about the whole plant also. The modification was done by modifying the water box for better circulation of water through the tubes and by the way the material for inner tubes altered, which is a combination of copper and nickel. So that particular stage of plant getting an effective cooling rate. Consequently the cost reduced to maintain that system. I hereby declare that the above particulars are true to the best of my knowledge.
